The discarding of the headphone jack was the right decision.

For some people maybe but not all. I have the same "if only they'd spent a tiny bit more" criticism as Eben has of Sinclair, designing to price knowing most won't care but letting down those who do, who have a use case for having it. I don't care that there may be better options; the option I want is gone.

I don't think dropping the analog audio jack was a cost issue so much as it was a space issue. /shrug For the one use (at present) where I need analog audio out, I'm using Pi2Bv1.2 boards. If I need analog audio from a Pi5, I picked up a couple of USB dongles with both output and mic input.
