It is MUCH slower to load and render on the pi5 (8GB NVME SSD Wayland modest overclock) than on a similar set up with my Pi4 (SSD on USB).
Is it basically the same image on both? (i.e. RPiOS 64-bit bookworm with wayland?)
What RAM does the Pi4 and Pi5 have?
What resolution is the display on each?
Both 8GB. Both running 64bit Bookworm. Same display. I just swap units between the only display I have 1920 * 1280.
The NVME SSD was a clone of the USB SSD. Both are up to date.
I have noticed that when doing updates, the Ethernet speed (I don't use WiFi) is always slower on the Pi5. Generally 49Mbps on the Pi4 and 34Mbps on the Pi5. I have a 100Mbps connection and a router that supports it. Maybe that is the bottleneck.
