My apologies to hippy if it rubbed off the wrong way. I totally understand your position. My bad. I'd have done the same thing myself elsewhere. In this era, there are a lot of folks getting into embedded stuff who don't have much electronics knowledge. Some folks tend to lean on forums whatnot a lot, that's why I am interested in the clear presentation of material where the audience may need guidance. I'm still adjusting to the modern era of the embedded hobby, so I promise I'll try not to be a nag here.
There is such a big push to make embedded stuff as a gateway drug to STEM. But this strategy lowers barriers and so tends to simplify things. The culture is different from yesteryear because of how they are pushing embedded stuff to the masses. Perhaps educators should encourage folks to browse more datasheets -- not to read and expect to fully understand everything, but to skim, linger here and there, and absorb bits and pieces.
