Latest bookworm kernel is 6.6.31-1+rpt1 (2024-05-29), so yours is out of date.
I am aware, but I already tried that and had to revert to my old image. With all packages upgraded to latest and cmdline.txt without the extra edid file and video mode it does not work but worse, my workaround stops working too.

Yes the display does support 1920x1080 and display it, but it is practically unusable.

The original monitor EDID Decodes to this preferred Mode:

Code:

----------------Preferred Video Timing if only Block 0 is parsed: DTD 1: 1024x600 60.044310 Hz 128:75 37.348 kHz 49.000000 MHz (255 mm x 255 mm) Hfront 5 Hsync 13 Hback 270 Hpol N Vfront 2 Vsync 3 Vback 17 Vpol P----------------Preferred Video Timings if Block 0 and CTA-861 Blocks are parsed: DTD 1: 1024x600 60.044310 Hz 128:75 37.348 kHz 49.000000 MHz (255 mm x 255 mm) Hfront 5 Hsync 13 Hback 270 Hpol N Vfront 2 Vsync 3 Vback 17 Vpol P VIC 6: 1440x480i 59.940060 Hz 4:3 15.734 kHz 27.000000 MHz Hfront 38 Hsync 124 Hback 114 Hpol N Vfront 4 Vsync 3 Vback 15 Vpol N Vfront +0.5 Odd Field Vfront 4 Vsync 3 Vback 15 Vpol N Vback +0.5 Even Field----------------Native Video Resolution if only Block 0 is parsed: 1024x600
The weird thing is, If you check the list of supported modes in the output of raspinfo, 1024x600 does not show up.
It does however, if I connect the displays to my LinuxMint Laptop.
