Having seen the first frame in this thread I thought "this kind of coloring might be a feature".First off, the good news:
I can consistently reproduce this issue and have determined the cause.
The bad news:
Waveshare has some problems to fix. Their black FPC (CSI) connectors for Pi 5 are the cause of this problem. (https://www.pishop.co.za/store/black-cs ... egory_id=0)
It seems that ordering that Waveshare cable implements that coloring
