Interesting moniker "hippy". A very good friend used the same nick name at college. That aside, what I am looking for is a setup for Code:Blocks to do Pico development in C. The thread started because the setup examples for development all used VS as the IDE. For reasons I won't elaborate on here, I have issues with Microsoft. Secondly VS is built off Eclipse which is developed using Java. The JDK since being "acquired" by Oracle, has had a number of security holes punched in it and is now not what it used to be.
Since the devil you know is better, I prefer the simplicity of Code:Blocks. Plus, it runs well on Raspberry Pi.The responses to this point were so rife with "just" solutions, which were either use VS, or command line (one case of using Emacs, but I didn't want to rekindle that flame war). Thank you to the many people that provide pointers to the right pages of the documents instead of hiding behind "RTFM (read the fine manual)". My reasoning for Code:Blocks is, it is the tool that I use with my students. Embedded programming, mostly with Arduino (328 and Mega). I'd like to start using Pico because they are inexpensive and readily available, and I understand work great with robotics.
So simply, can someone provide me with some information to configure Code:Blocks to build and install C code onto Pico. Thank you.
