FWIW replacing the short Asus cable into the panel has brought my panel to life.
I'm getting a large number of PLL lock failures though, so I suspect there may still be something in the sequencing of power up. I don't have the bridge reset or backlight connected up, so it may just be that.
That not withstanding, it is working on 4 lanes on a Pi5 with the updated timings and https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/6157![Very Happy :D]()
