"WIZnet is planning to launch a system-in-package which combines a Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller with its W5500 Ethernet controller: the ioNIC".
That's an interesting proposition and will be useful if boards using it support some kind of power injection through the RJ45 - though I wouldn't expect IEEE spec PoE capability or support.
It might be an even more interesting and more useful proposition if it embeds the forthcoming RP235X chip. Coupled with the Raspberry Pi 10.5" display it could provide a signage solution which needs nothing more than an ethernet cable going to it.
