Actually, there is no problem with booting from USB. It finds the device and starts booting OK. I can even log into the system with SSH from another machine. The problem is that when it boots from USB, the screen remains blank. There is a little blinking cursor in the upper left corner, but that is it. I was able to reconfigure raspbian to use X11. It starts and works fine in this configuration. But when the default UI shell is in use - I end up with a blank screen. Any tips on how to configure lightdm to work when booted from USB?
