I'd avoid ash, its one of the woods with a low burn temperature (no idea if that is why it is called ash?).
According to the table

Ash has an ignition temperature of 850C which puts it among the rest of the hardwoods in terms of not easily catching fire.
Is that the burn temp rather than ignition ?

Oops. You're right. That was burn temperature. I'll update my previous post.
