as I said its a last resort, I want to try with the raspberry pi first as the powerline adapters I would need are not cheapGo powerline, 100%. You’ll get real bridging and most likely stable and sufficient performance.
Just make sure you can return them (don’t toss the packages) in case of an unforeseen problem with the electrical circuit in the building. Unlikely but always possible.
It’s not often that I would encourage buying devices instead of making your own, but in this case I think it’s warranted.
I have 600Mbps powerline with 100Mbps ports at the minute, they are getting around 50-80Mbps actual speed
I have seen the tp-link AV2000 at £80 which has gigabit port and up to 2000Mbps powerline speed, but I have a AV1000 kit and was only getting around 700Mbps powerline speed and 125Mbps actual speed
my internet speed is 210Mbps
the electrical wiring is from around the end of 2010 and is a standard UK ring main
would the AV2000 deliver 210Mbps real speed, even the tp-link do not know
I do still want to try with the raspberry pi though first or has anybody got any cheaper ideas
