From what I understand if experimenting with SSD HAT would need the active cooler and different case.is there any reason to buy and use the active cooler fan instead?
SSD may be the way to go longer term. From what I've been told microSD cards have more limited lifetime of read/write cycles (10k?) & under regular use could deteriorate rapidly due to logging & swap.
