You claim to be doing an upgrade of some older version of buster to the most recent version of buster, correct? (That is, not buster->bookworm).
What were the exact commands that you used to get to where you are now?
I'm wondering if you simply ran out of storage space. Can you open a new terminal and do a "df"?
