To get the CPU (Central Processing Unit) temperature you could put in vcgencmd measure_tmp into a command terminal.
OK I know it is kinky to make life hard not easy, try this
Go to the folder /usr/local/bin
Make a file called cputemp or whatever, either with or without the extension .sh I used the text editor nano
Put in the contents vcgencmd measure_tmp
Save it and make the file permissions x for executable.
Then all you have to do is type cputemp.sh into the command terminal and that is easier to remember than the other name.
Some might think while this could be a little pathetic, it did teach me something today, without asking questions at a forum.
