The receiver is Pioneer SC-LX501
The beamer EPSON EH-TW3200

Thanks for hinting to the diagnostics screen. I was not aware that I could do that.If I read this correctly the line 'display' is missing. The page you linked says that this line shows that hotplug was detected. I found and tried in config.txt:
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
without success.

I am not sure what it means when the line display is not shown at all.
