Beginners • Re: Pi5 battey connector

I was talking about the rtc battery, when i talked about the two holes under bat [would have been useful if were some documentation that explain that: i searched all side and did not found any]
Pi 5 Add your own power button
[there are also two holes tagged as "VID"]
Composite video output. The Pi 5 doesn't have a jack for A/V output so you can solder on your own wires for a video connector if needed.
About the power supply I just observed that an USB cable @5A could heat a bit,
The official PSU with cable should be fine at up to its rated 5A. Any cable rated 5V 5A shouldn't really heat up. That would mean there is excessive loss in the cable which would put it outside spec.

Having said that, I haven't run my Pi 5 with anything really heavy on it. I could probably get away with a 3A PSU.
I certainly haven't experienced the official supply heating up. It stays cool to the touch.

I suspect that you are right about 3A being enough for most tasks.
