OP: I'm running tests now, but I typically run a charmed life and don't have wifi problems. Couple of notes on your repo:

1. pipkin, what another tool duplicating mpremote? Your instructions are wrong: it's "install", not "--install"
2. I added network.country() and network.hostname() to the script through force of habit
3. I had to add the device port to your mpremote calls as I typically have several MicroPython device hanging off this machine
