Use a trick from a motel on the road from Sydney to Perth that lost too many keys. Attache 300mm of metal tube.As micro SD cards seem to get lost more easily than larger form factors
Linux supports keyrings.
The only problem is choosing where to drill the keyring hole in the card. 
The Samsung Edge cards are all black and hard to find when they drop between furniture. The Extreme cards are easier to find if they land with the red side up. I have bright yellow paint pen to write on them. Makes them easier to see.
I write my name, phone number, postal address, and, just in case I forget, the encryption password.
