Beginners • Where (/What) Is The Documentation For The Pi 5's GPIO ?

I'm new to the Raspberry Pi 5 (few weeks).

I've seen references to the fact that the Raspberry Pi 5 board's GPIO pins can take-on several different functions.

But .... so far as I can remember ... I haven't found any documentation that describes WHAT those functions are (in detail) ... or how they are accessed (I presume some registers).

Am I simply overlooking that documentation .... or does it not exist ?
