This post says
Also, there apparently is a bug in the speedetest-cli in Buster that shows lower speeds than is available.
Might be worth testing on a newer (bookworm) image.
If it were an existing problem with speediest-cli on Buster, then why did it just show up recently and work reliably for the past few years?

(I'm willing to upgrade to Bookworm, but I'm a bit wary about the process. Also, I'm somewhat unwilling to sacrifice holiday-at-the-beach time to burn a new image and restore all the files.)
what do you get from:

Code:

pi@pi4:~ $ speedtest-cli --versionspeedtest-cli 2.1.3Python 3.11.2 (main, Mar 13 2023, 12:18:29) [GCC 12.2.0]

Code:

pi@raspcondo:~/webcam $ speedtest-cli --version2.0.2

Code:

pi@raspcondo:~ $ sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade speedtest-cliReading package lists... DoneBuilding dependency treeReading state information... Donespeedtest-cli is already the newest version (2.0.2-1+deb10u2).0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
And, then there's this:

Code:

pi@raspcondo:/usr/bin $ ls -la speedtest*-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 404 Apr 23 2021 speedtest-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 412 Apr 23 2021 speedtest-clipi@raspcondo:/usr/bin $ speedtest --version2.0.2
I can't recall how I ended up with two instances of this. They produce nearly identical results:

Code:

pi@raspcondo:~ $ speedtestRetrieving speedtest.net configuration...Testing from CAT Telecom (110.77.146.212)...Retrieving speedtest.net server list...Selecting best server based on ping...Hosted by ByteArk Co., Ltd.
