I have two raspberry pi 5s. On one of them I can press the power button and it will bring up the shutdown menu. On the other pi it does nothing. On both of them I can power up using the power button.
It looks like both pis are configured exactly the same:
30 minutes later update: Well, now I ran by pure chance into something strange: if I use the menu to bring up the shutdown dialog, I can press on the power button to perform the shutdown properly. So it seems that the problem is that the 1st power button press doesn't bring up the shutdown dialog as it should.
Is there some configuration I need to do on the one that ignores the 1st power button press?
It looks like both pis are configured exactly the same:
- both are 8GB
- same OS version, VERSION="12 (bookworm)"
- both have full desktop installed
- same PCIe board: Geekworm X1001
- same SSD: Crucial P3 1TB PCIe Gen3 NAND NVMe M.2 CT1000P3SSD8
- same official active cooling fan
