And FYI, the usual reason for asking "why are you root" is because the person being asked the question is A. apparently inexperienced, B. doing something that does not need to (and should not) be done as root, or C. both.
Further, that you have made just six posts* with five of them being in your other thread means we have absolutely no way of judging your experience level.
Many of the environment variables required for the window manager to work won't be set when switched to root, and that's the main reason it causes issues.
