It's summer here--the last day of class having been Monday. I have a different thick-client setup to update that's the opposite of PiServer: Rather than using an x86 desktop to provide a network bootable Linux image for a lab of single-board computers, I'm using a single-board computer to provide a network bootable Linux image to a lab of x86 desktop computers.
Updating always causes unexpected problems, so summer is the time for updates. I expect an additional mess when the desktops are replaced with Windows 11 compatible hardware.
I noticed there is now a forum under software for discussing Raspberry Pi Connect. Since PiServer also seems to be Raspberry Pi authored software, maybe it could have its own topic under software rather than placed under Raspberry Pi Desktop. I wonder if the present thread would get more help if it were under a different topic.
