L80-39, I don'tknow much about that GNSS/GPS module, but hook it up and get it working.
Then get the mpu6050 working.
Then log and test seeing how it all works.
Then get the GNSS device showing on a map.
Then research strides and work on the maths and algorithms for steps, it might be done for you.
I know some MPU 9deg things can have step as part of their selling point.
Both the module you are using don't though.
