Where are you downloading the Raspberry Pi OS image from, because it sounds like it is corrupted?

And the checksum is correct, the filesystem is all there, all the stuff in boot, except that the bastard will not boot.
Somewhat frustrating, this should be easy.
And I don't want to spend the whole summer installing Gentoo on it.
Did that one time on a pi and fun it might be, one time is enough.
