thanks for replying.

I actually never tried to turn the FPC inwards. Nethertheless ... same result.
It's the same message I also checked the cable multiple times to make sure it sits tight. if I reverse the cable direction from top to bottom the , the AI HAT+ LED won't light on.

I dont need a camera connected to the pi? I have no pi camera. I thought I can use the PI with the AI HAT only..

Regarding your suggestion about the direction of the FPC .. Most Guide's or videos showing those components, are always build the direction I've shown here.

I believe my HAT or the cable is faulty.
