I would need more information in order to make any further suggestions.
Happy to provide any information you require. The image was created using Pi Imager to a USB drive, booted and basic Raspi-config changes made. Nothing installed. Only the image-backups copied to /usr/local/sbin/ That's it.

Write the latest Raspberry Pi OS image to an SD card and boot it. Make no changes. Place image-backup in your home directory and make it executable. Don't mount anything anywhere.

Run:

Code:

sudo ./image-backup
For "Image file to create? ", use: /mnt/test.img

Simply press the ENTER key for "Initial image file ROOT filesystem size (MB)" and "Added space for incremental updates after shrinking (MB)".

Is test.img successfully created in /mnt?
Thanks for coming back to me. Will try this tomorrow and report back as soon as possible. Cheers
