I have a general question: is there a way to update the image of a Raspberry Pi from within, e.g. to offer a kind of update or factory reset option of a Raspberry-Pi based appliance, that installs a new image, without having to take out the SD card and connect it to another device/computer?
Assuming a Raspberry Pi 3, 4, or 5, boot to USB device, write the new image to the SD card, showdown, remove the USB device, and boot the new SD card.
