Raspberry Pi Connect • Re: firewall?

Connect essentially operates in two major phases of communication, a negotiation phase and a connected phase.

Connect will use port 443 for the negotiation phase.

For the connected phase, Connect will preferentially use a peer-to-peer connection, and you should expect this communication to take place on any port the OS has not already allocated. In the event that peer-to-peer connections cannot be established, it will fall back to using a TURN server.

The TURN servers expect connections on only a handful of ports:
  • 443
  • 3478
  • 53
  • 80
